We are thrilled to announce the publishing our new mobile app, Install Magazine, to iTunes Newsstand. The app is a culmination of countless hours of meetings, hard work, creativity and the contribution of direction and vision of some key people that I’d like to mention. Firstly, partners David Chandler and Greg Adams have been instrumental in getting this app to iTunes. Their countless hours on the phone and web conferences to discuss strategy, design and future growth of this project is infinitely exhaustive and invaluable. I am appreciative of their friendship and business accumen. I am grateful to be associated with them. The genius of Ed Dale and John Bass needs to be saluted. Their vision and guidance was instrumental in bringing Install Magazine to market. There are no words to express my gratitude. The ongoing support from the Mobile App and Internet Marketing community from leaders like Paul Colligan, Jimmy Harding, Joe Valmonte, Chad Mureta and many more that certainly I’m failing to mention here. Install Magazine is an app and newsstand magazine that can be found on Apple’s iTunes store. Our intention as a mobile app company is for the magazine and app to provide value to our subscribers. Install Magazine will contain content in the form of articles, audio and video about mobile apps. It will feature reviews of apps for the iphone and ipod touch, iPad as well as for Android devices, app development demonstrations, interviews with developers and consumers (users), recommendations and industry news. We plan to have mobile accessory reviews, software reviews and much more. We are passionate about mobile apps and our gadgets and recognize they have become engrained in our lives. Despite the ever growing library of apps to review, we know that not everyone will download every app that is developed or that we review. Our hope is to bring awareness to the existence of some of these apps and provide a unique perspective from a consumer, developer and marketer point of view. Lastly, we recognize that we can’t do it all ourselves and thus we openly invite others to submit articles and video reviews of their own to a growing community of mobile app enthusiasts.

One of the things I have to admit that I tend to be a bit lazy about is updating my Apps when there is an Update ready. I came across this post by Apple iPhone School. Its true that the App Store notifies us with that typically unnoticeable number in a red circle on the App to be Updated as well as the number of updates available within the App Store Icon. This nifty little AppUpdateNotifier send you push notifications that lets you know which Apps have updates. This is an application that should have originally came with the App Store. This application sends you a push notification every time one of your installed apps has an update. You can configure the app under your Settings app to check hourly, daily, weekly or monthly for new updates. There’s also an ignore list so you can disable notifications for certain application updates. I use the ignore list for Apple apps that recently updated for iOS 5.1 that I do not want to update because I’m still on 5.0.1. This application is $1.49 in the Cydia Store.

I found a nice little article online this week about taking mobile payments. Here is a snippet from the article: Are you set up to take mobile payments? Are you confident that the platform you’re using is the most viable, reliable and the most convenient for your customers? If not, don’t sweat it. Since the Internet and its many branching and related technologies pop up and become outmoded faster than most people can say “planned obsolescence,” it can be tough to keep up, much less pick the winning horse in the race. But these kinds of services and apps aren’t going anywhere, at least for a while. Entrepreneur.com has a rundown on four of the leading services you can or should use, depending on why you’re accepting payments online. Square, Intuit GoPayment, PayAnywhere and Paypal Here are put through their paces — and the site also recommends who should be using which services.
